Liana’s Touch of Music strengthens family relationships between parent and child through music, nurturing touch and education. We provide Kindermusik play dates for children ages 0-5, infant massage instruction to parents and vocal instruction to children ages 8+ as well as adults.

Liana’s Touch of Music (LTOM) strengthens family relationships between parent, caregiver and child through music, nurturing touch and education. I offer private Kindermusik® play dates, ABC Music and Me® group classes for daycare and early learning centers. I also instruct parents on the art and technique of infant massage as well as train and coach children through adults on their vocal abilities. All classes are taught in the comfort and privacy of your home, local community center or school.

Vocal Instruction: One on one vocal instruction on an hourly basis. We cover proper breathing and singing technique, connection to lyrics, build repertoire, songwriting and more. Liana’s current students attend LaGuardia High School, Talent Unlimited High School and perform throughout NYC.

Kindermusik: Want to arrange something different for your children’s play dates? How about having a Kindermusik experience! Kindermusik is a music and movement class that helps strengthen your child’s development in all areas including physical, social, emotional, language, literacy and more! All play dates are for children ages 0 months to 5 years and incorporate instrument play, singing, dancing and story time. Take home music download cards are included. A minimum of five families are required for a playdate.

Infant Massage: Infant massage is an age old tradition that has been taught in numerous countries throughout the world. It is a great way to connect with your baby and help to provide relief and stimulation for them. Classes are taught once a week in a 4 week span of time and can be offered as one on one or in small group settings. Handouts and massage oil are included. These classes are for infants 12 months and under.

About Liana: Liana Harper Cruz is a licensed Kindermusik educator, Certified Educator of Infant Massage (CEIM/CIMI), DONA International Trained Doula and vocal instructor. Liana started singing at the age of three and when she was 8 years old she attended a musical theater program at the Kaufman Music Center. She attended the program for many years and performed at Merkin Concert Hall in Lincoln Center.

She graduated from Talent Unlimited High School where she majored in musical theater. She attended The Boston Conservatory for musical theater and graduated from CUNY Baruch College with a B.A. in Music Management. Liana is also a singer/songwriter who released her debut EP in 2009 titled My Journey Vol I which is available on iTunes.

When Liana became a mother, she realized the many benefits music had on her daughter. It was the medium in which they were able to connect and she instinctively incorporated music and massage into their daily rituals. Eager to learn more, she studied Vimala McClure’s infant massage technique through the International Association of Infant Massage training program.

Liana is a member of the National Association for Teachers of Singing (NATS), NY State Music Teachers Association (NYSMTA), Music Teacher National Association (MTNA) and International Association for Infant Massage (IAIM).

    Participants make a large-scale machine that demonstrates how waves work using wooden dowels, duct tape, and gummy candy. We will also demonstrate a simple oscilloscope that uses a laser beam to show how sound waves look. For ages 13 -18
