Reality Check of Tobacco-Free Staten Island is hosting a chalk the walk and cigarette butt cleanup for the second Annual #SeenEnoughTobaccoDay. Seen Enough Tobacco Day is hosted on October 13 to demonstrate the scary impacts of tobacco marketing on youth in our community. Wolfes Pond Park is located near one of the largest high schools on Staten Island and we know the more tobacco retailers kids see, the more likely they are to smoke and where there is smoke there is tobacco waste. Tobacco litter is the most littered item in the world. Media will have the opportunity to take photos/video of youth placing flags where tobacco litter once was across the beach and chalk messaging on the paths leading up to the beach. All of this will demonstrate the scary fact that cigarette butts are the most littered item in the world.
