Event Details

This exciting event offers a day when people can step back in time to examine, experience, and appreciate various aspects of 18th century life.  Visitors will be able to share aspects of  American Heritage which are not normally evident or considered in everyday modern life.

There will be costumed Colonial dancers accompanied by live 18th Century music and balladeers.

Various 18th century craftspeople will demonstrate Colonial era trades such as woodworking, coopering, tin smithing, beekeeping, chair caning, quilt making spinning and weaving. Visitors will see demonstrations and learn about various crafts. Among other activities, children have the opportunity to make kites (in homage to Ben Franklin) and to try their hand at the art of calligraphic writing.

Colonial cooking will be demonstrated at the outdoor open hearth fires by  members of the Conference House Auxiliary. They will share Colonial recipes for cornbread and soup

Modern day snacks will be available for purchase.
