Ambling through Arden
Enjoy a walk in New York City’s largest freshwater wetlands. Step into this vast forested area to experience a part of New York City that is as it was hundreds of years ago.
Bird watchers seek owls, hawks, and warblers swooping amongst the trees. Be on the look out for salamanders, frogs, and small mammals. The park has some slopes and streams to cross (if it has rained heavily during the week may limit access to them). Inclement weather—but not light rain—will cancel this walk. Bring spray to ward off mosquitos or ticks that may be present. For more information call Don Recklies at 718-768-9036.
Meet at the parking lot off Arden Avenue opposite Forest Green.
