Join NYC Parks’ Arts, Culture & Fun for a watercolor painting workshop series in Staten Island in partnership with Seeds of the League. Artist Kenneth Fitzpatrick will teach participants how to draw and paint using nature as inspiration. Learn about light, color, and design while making art en plein air (outside). All levels from beginners to advanced are welcome.
For comfort, bring a mat, blanket, or folding chair to sit on. Feel free to bring your own watercolors, paper, water, and brushes. Limited supplies will be provided.
Seeds of the League is the Art Students League’s community program.
About the artist:
Kenneth Fitzpatrick, a graduate of the High School of Art & Design, was born and raised in New York City. His awards include P.S. Art, a citywide competition for pre-K to 12, culminating in an exhibition at the Metropolitan Museum of Art and a Seeds of the League Scholarship. Ken’s work focuses on compositional storytelling using the mediums of oils, graphite, watercolors, tattoos, and digital art. His goals include finishing his degree in game development and encouraging others to pursue their art.
Register by contacting [email protected]. The class size is limited and will be on a first-come, first-serve basis on the day of the workshop. Families are welcome.
