Event Details

Participate in the NRPA Parks for Pollinator Blitz with Freshkills Park Staff at Freshkills Park.

Lace-up your shoes for a nature walk at the park, where researchers will take participants behind the scenes to visit areas that are currently closed to the public. On this one-mile walk, participants will identify the different pollinators and plants found in the park’s grasslands.

Parks for Pollinators is a national campaign to raise awareness and community involvement in the pollinator crisis through local parks and recreation and like-minded organizations. NRPA and The Scotts Miracle-Gro Foundation are challenging local parks to get involved and host a pollinator BioBlitz during September.

Join the Freshkills Park Project on iNaturalist to submit your observations throughout September.

This program is designed for ages 6+.
