Event Details

New York City is home to an amazing abundance of wildlife. Our Urban Park Rangers will guide you to the best wildlife viewing spots in the urban jungle.

Join the Urban Park Rangers and the Greenbelt Nature Center for an evening dedicated to the “living fossil” that has existed for over 445 million years. Participants will assist in a citizen science project while learning the importance of horseshoe crabs in our waters. We will be also be demonstrating methods of data collection for this species and discuss the use for scientific observations.

Registration is required. To register, please visit the Urban Park Rangers Registration Page on Wednesday, April 28.

Please Note: We are offering outdoor programs with limited attendance so that you can have a safe and enjoyable time in parks: Based on New York State guidance for sports and recreation during COVID-19, we’ve put protocols into place to keep our participants and staff safe and healthy.
