Event Details

Join the National Lighthouse Museum in honoring the victims of 9/11 with the Lighting in Blue of the Staten Island Range Light (Lighthouse).
The lighthouse will stay lit Saturday, Sept. 11, from dusk to dawn.
The best place to view  the lighting up close is Edinboro Road on Staten Island.
In 2019, the Coast Guard granted stewardship responsibilities for Staten Island Rear Range Lighthouse to the National Lighthouse Museum. Built in 1912, the 90-foot tower sits more than five miles northwest of the West Bank Lighthouse on Richmond Hill, 141 feet above sea level. It shows a fixed white light that can be seen for 18 miles by all vessels bound to New York and New Jersey ports coming in from the Atlantic Ocean (on range only).
