S.I. Parent About Us

THE S.I. PARENT BRAND

S.I. Parent is a multi-platform resource hub designed to inform, connect, and help parents in the community through the company’s editorial, social media and advertising initiatives.

First appearing in 1989, S.I. Parent filled a need for dependable, trustworthy information for parents in Staten Island. Through the years, families have come to rely on S.I. Parent to provide the tools they need to raise a happy and healthy family, covering topics as diverse as parenting itself. As a multimedia company, its reach is widespread spanning print, Internet, social media and email marketing.

S.I. Parent is a multiple award-winning member of the Parenting Media Association (PMA), a national trade association of regional parenting publications that reach across America and around the globe to Australia, representing a monthly circulation nearing 5 million and a readership of approximately 11.5 million. S.I. Parent has won numerous awards, including the Gold Award, for its design, editorial, and e-newsletter.

From pregnancy to finding a pediatrician or childcare center, S.I. Parent is invaluable to new families. As families grow, they depend on S.I. Parent for resources and advice on parenting concerns throughout the child-rearing years and, as is the case for many sandwich-generation parents, caring for senior relatives.

S.I. Parent represents a steady host of loyal advertisers, as well as a media platform for emerging businesses. Being embedded in the Staten Island community makes it possible to stay up-to-the-minute on current topics and trends, and tailor the variety of articles, features, directories, special sections and promotions to Staten Island families and their interests.

In addition, S.I. Parent is well-known for its extensive monthly calendar of events and variety of contests and giveaways, both online and in print.

The S.I. PARENT brand suite of products includes:

  • S.I. Parent.  Premiering in 1989, S.I. Parent magazine has been published monthly since its inception.
  • SIParent.com.  S.I. Parent’s website affords readers an interactive experience. Here can be found an extensive list of resources culled over the years and presented in a searchable online presence.
  • Email Marketing.  S.I. Parent has accumulated a vast number of members in a “Family of Friends” list who elect to receive weekly emails notifying them of upcoming local family-friendly events. Members of the Family of Friends list are eligible to receive coupons from local businesses, as well as win prizes through exclusive giveaways.
