First thing’s first. If you’re looking to view the mother of all fireworks displays, the Macy’s 4th of July Fireworks Spectacular, you can check out this interactive map for a convenient guide to the best viewing spots. The dazzling display has returned to lower Manhattan for the first time in five years and is expected to be one of the most amazing shows ever.

Planning to skip the city crowds and stay in Staten Island? You can get a nice view of several different fireworks shows across the water on the 4th of July at:
• Fort Wadsworth in Gateway National Recreational Area (210 New York Avenue)
• Alice Austen House Park (2 Hylan Blvd.)
• FDR Boardwalk in South Beach (Father Capodanno Blvd.)
