Menorah Lightings & Hanukkah Events in and Near Staten Island

Start frying the latkes — Hanukkah is coming! The Jewish Festival of Lights is from sundown on Dec. 18 to Dec. 26 in 2022 and there are many menorah lightings and Hanukkah events and activities planned throughout Staten Island and nearby for families and kids to enjoy. Each will be an opportunity to have fun and learn about the Hanukkah traditions and Jewish culture. From menorah lightings to crafts and musical performances and more, there’s something for everyone to enjoy. Celebrate Hanukkah 2022 in Staten Island and nearby with these fun events and activities for kids and families!

Hanukkah Events on Staten Island 

Chanukah Family Show and More!

WHERE: Joan & Alan Bernikow JCC • 1466 Manor Rd.
WHEN: Sunday, Dec. 18; 1-2:30pm
PRICE: $12 per child; adults attend for free
Enjoy this Hanukkah celebration for families and children of all ages. Mainstages Theater will present a show, Maya’s Metaverse!, a Hanukkah adventure and interactive performance. 

JCC Menorah Lighting

WHERE: Joan & Alan Bernikow JCC • 1466 Manor Rd.
WHEN: Monday, Dec. 19, 4:30pm
PRICE: Free
Lighting will take place in the JCC’s lobby. 

Borough Hall Menorah Lighting

WHERE: 10 Richmond Terr.

Hanukkah Events in Brooklyn 

Brooklyn’s Largest Menorah 

WHERE: Grand Army Plaza
WHEN: Sunday, Dec. 18; 4pm

A kick-off concert begins at 4pm. Every night of Hanukkah is celebrated with live music, hot latkes and gifts for kids. 

Kings Bay Y Hanukkah Celebration 

WHERE: Kings Bay Y • 3495 Nostrand Ave.
WHEN: Sunday, Dec. 18; 11am-2pm
PRICE: Free
Enjoy a carnival with inflatables, food stations, games, live performances, arts and crafts and more.

Menorah Lighting Ceremony

Hanukkah Culinary Class

WHERE: Barry’s Appliance & Culinary Kitchens • 565 Union Ave., Bridgewater Township
WHEN: Friday, Dec. 9; 6:30-9pm

Chef Barbara Markowitz will guide you in creating dishes such as tri-colored latkes and easy caramel apple upside down cake. There’s also a wine tasting (ages 21 and older.) More information and register online. 

Hanukkah Dinner at Collingswood 2022
