Watch out…dinosaurs are roaring into the metro area! Jurassic Quest, a huge dinosaur-themed experience, is currently on tour and coming to the New Jersey Convention and Exposition Center in Edison, NJ. The event features life-size dinosaur characters, little baby dinosaurs, crafts and so many fun activities that will delight dinosaur lovers of all ages!

Shows run Thursday, Dec. 29-Sunday, Jan. 1. Walk through different eras such as the Cretaceous, Jurassic and Triassic periods, and get a sense of what it was like in prehistoric times. According to its Facebook page, Jurassic Quest collaborated with leading paleontologists to “painstakingly replicate” each animatronic dinosaur in detail.

Tickets are on sale now, but they’re going fast.

What to Expect at Jurassic Quest in Edison, NJ

The event features lots of experiences for families to enjoy. The highlight of the event is the herd of life-size, animatronic dinosaurs starring Allosaurus, Ankylosaurus, Spinosaurus and—of course—the ferocious T-Rex! (Check out the event’s dino directory to see who else might be there.)

Here are some other fun activities kids will love:

  • Ride a Dino: Go for a ride on dinosaur’s back! Several dinos are rideable, and kids will love to find out who their favorite dinosaur is.
  • Dig for Fossils: Explore science tables that let kids dig for Triceratops and T-Rex fossils.
  • Dino Crafts: Create a paper dinosaur, color a dino or choose from other fun craft activities.
  • Meet Baby Dinos: A fan favorite, these tiny dinos are life-like and very cute. (It even looks like they’re smiling!)
  • Dino Photo Opps: Kids will love the dinosaurs that run around and play with the audience! (Makes for great pictures!)
  • Discover Ancient Oceans: Here’s where you’ll see an impressive 50-foot megalodon, an extinct shark species that lived approximately 23-3.6 million years ago. Megalodon is considered to be the largest shark that ever lived. You’ll also see many other enormous—and vicious!–prehistoric marine creatures that lived in prehistoric eras.
  • Ready, Set, Quest! Take on The Quest, an interactive challenge that leads dino lovers through clues within the experience. Complete all the activities and get a reward!
  • Tricera-tots: A soft play space for the littles dino lovers. (How cute is that!)
