So many of us have clothes cluttering our closets that we just don’t wear anymore. They might even still have the price tags dangling off of them! Now is a great time to clear out your closets and give those pre-worn threads a new life by donating to those in need or reusing them in a sustainable way. Browse this list of where to donate clothes on Staten Island, including thrift stores, non-profit organizations and more. 

Where to Donate Clothes on Staten Island: Thrift and Consignment Stores

These are some local thrift and consignment stores on Staten Island that buy items or accept clothing donations:

This shop buys and sells gently used clothing and accessories for kids of all ages. 

Everything Goes Thrift & Vintage

You can donate a variety of clothes and other items at this popular thrift shop. Drop off donations anytime Tuesday-Saturday 11am-6pm. 

Nothing New Thrift Shop

4885 Arthur Kill Rd.

This sprawling shop is packed with items, including clothing, coats, purses, accessories and more. The store is currently accepting donations of clothing for adults. 

Exquisitely Detailed

You can bring your designer handbags and other items here. Staff will examine the items to see if they can possibly help you sell them. 

Where to Donate Clothes on Staten Island: Community-Based Organizations, Shelters, Religious Organizations, Assisted-Living Homes and More

There are many organizations on Staten Island that accept clothing donations to help families and individuals in need. These are some of them:

Debra Gallonty-Lieto

Debra collects prom dresses, suits, shoes and accessories for student dances and proms at Curtis and McKee High Schools on Staten Island. Call after 5pm to schedule a drop off of any of these items. 

Cross Road Foundation

482 Manor Rd.

This organization, which helps women experiencing unplanned pregnancies, accepts kids clothing and accessories. Drop-off times are on Wednesdays, 10am-1pm, at the rectory of Assumption Church, located at 15 Webster Ave. 

Vietnam Veterans of America – VVA Pickup

VVA Pickup is a service of Vietnam Veterans of America. It picks up used clothing of all types and sizes for all ages, as well as other household items, directly from your house and uses them to support programs that help veterans. Just schedule a pickup online or by phone, place your items outside and a driver will come by to pick it up. 

Salvation Army Family Store

Consider making a donation to the Salvation Army thrift store. Donated goods, including clothing, support the organization’s Adult Rehabilitation Centers (ARC). Proceeds from the sales of donated items fund the ARC program, which is generally provided to participants, free of charge. 

The Church of Saint Andrew

Just pack up clothes you’re donating, call to schedule a pickup and the church will come by to pick them up. Pickup days are Tuesdays and Fridays. 

Christian Pentecostal Church

Donate clothing and accessories Monday-Friday, 9am-5pm. 

The Veranda Assisted Living

110 Henderson Ave.

This assisted living building accepts donations of men’s and women’s clothing. Stop by anytime to drop off your donation. 

Verrazano Nursing and Post-Acute Center

100 Castleton Ave.

Stop by to drop off men’s and women’s clothing. Ask for social services when you arrive with your donation. 

Good Counsel Home on Staten Island

Good Counsel provides help and support for homeless women and children. The organization collects women’s clothes and accessories. Stop by to drop off a donation. 

Where to Donate Clothes on Staten Island: Retailers

Everyone knows thrift stores are great for accepting pre-worn clothes, but did you know many major retailers also accept used clothing? Some even include a coupon toward your next purchase at the store. Here are a few to check out:

Madewell

Stop by any location with your used jeans or mail them back (any brand, any color), and the retailer will resell or recycle them to help keep them out of landfills. You’ll receive $20 off a new pair of jeans.

H&M

Bring your unwanted garments (any brand, any condition) in for reuse or recycling to any H&M store and receive a coupon toward your next purchase.

UNIGLO

All UNIGLO items are accepted for recycling and reuse. Learn more about the company’s initiatives on the website.
