Macy’s Santaland

Written by Jana Beauchamp

The one and only Santa Claus is arriving in NYC to meet children of all ages at Macy’s Santaland. Visitors from around the world descend upon Santaland at Macy’s Herald Square each and every holiday season to visit the celebrated Christmas village and for a special visit with Santa Claus himself. It’s a beloved family tradition and a dose of pure holiday magic.

Santaland is over 10,000 square feet full of holiday cheer. Visitors will be mesmerized by thousands of twinkling lights, a bake shop with large-than-life holiday treats, and The Enchanted Forest with adorable, animated animals. There’s a serene Winter Wonderland complete with all things festive and fun from pretty pig ballerinas dancing The Nutcracker and toy trains choo choo-ing and delivering presents from everyone’s wish lists. There’s an official countdown to Christmas to remind us all that soon Santa Claus is coming to town. Plus, there are many majestic moments for perfect photos ops along the way like when greeting Santa to see if you’ve been good.

The big guy in red will be arriving soon after Thanksgiving on November 29, and staying until Christmas Eve. Everyone will love that Santaland is accessible to all and admission is free. Families should be sure to save a seat on Santa’s lap since reservations are required and can be booked five days in advance, starting at 6:30 am. If you have special requests like a Santa that looks just like you or any special needs, be sure to make a note of it when you make your reservation. Since Santa is the busiest and most popular man in town right now, some nice elves told us to go early in the season and visit Monday-Thursday to score Santaland reservations that avoid crowds and waits.

When it’s time to transport the family to Santaland, head to Macy’s Herald Square, 8th floor. Santa will greet children of all ages to make holiday dreams come true.  Families can snap their own cherished photos with Santa but official Santaland photos and merch are available for purchase as well. Every child receives a sweet Santaland pin and memories to last a lifetime. Families can also add to the festive fun by visiting Macy’s beautiful and interactive holiday windows while there too.
