The Mind Behind Twisted Trails
Tim Imbemba is the mastermind behind this fright-filled adventure. Tim is a teacher on Staten Island who used his summers off to dedicate his time to creating Twisted Trails. The idea of the Halloween display actually came during COVID-19, when he wanted to celebrate his daughter’s birthday, which falls on October 21st. Tim and his family set up a Halloween display in their yard, and neighbors started noticing, and from year to year, it has grown into something so special. His dedication has turned his backyard haunt into one of the Island’s most beloved seasonal traditions. Visitors can walk deep into the woods behind his home, where eerie sets, chilling effects, and costumed actors create a fully immersive and unforgettable experience.
Twisted Trails
Twisted Trails is a fully immersive walkthrough that features one-of-a-kind scares filled with jaw-dropping decor and animatronics. These are not your run-of-the-mill Halloween decorations, as they are carefully designed and placed into several spooky scenes. Visitors can expect to be immersed in several worlds, including graveyards, outer space, a “CARNEVIL”, and more!

Twisted Trails is truly for everyone in the family! If your little one does not want to experience the haunt in the dark, there are times available during the day for anyone who wants a less spooky walkthrough. Additionally, visitors are welcome to admire the decorations on the exterior from a distance rather than walking through the trail.

But Twisted Trails is about more than just scares. Tim hires local actors to bring his haunt to life, donates a portion of ticket sales to charity, and keeps admission affordable for families, making it one of the best values among all paid attractions on Staten Island. Every year, Twisted Trails donates to St. Jude’s Hospital and the ASPCA. Over the years, the haunt has gained tremendous attention, with guests praising not only its scale but also the heart behind it. Twisted Trails’ commitment to Halloween shows in every detail. This attraction is often the first to open for the season and one of the very last to close, making sure as many visitors as possible get to experience Tim’s creation. Once the season ends, he carefully packs everything away, only to begin building again for the following year, always raising the bar higher than before.
