October has arrived, which means it’s time to fully embrace fall! Enjoy the changing leaves. Bring out  your cozy sweaters from last year. And most importantly, get ready to immerse yourself in fabulous fall fun on Staten Island! There is a slew of events and activities happening here to celebrate both Halloween and all things autumn, from pumpkin picking and corn mazes to spooky activities and other fall activities, and so much more! Here’s a list of our top picks for festive and family friendly events happening around the borough. Be sure to call in advance to make sure activities aren’t canceled due to weather and get the venue’s updated COVID safety requirements.

Fall Events in Staten Island

NYC Winter Lantern Festival

When: Oct. 29-Jan. 9, 2022, Friday-Sunday, 4:30-9:30pm. At the peak of the holiday season, the NYC lantern festival will be open every night from Dec. 24-Jan. 2, 2022.
This holiday season will be merry and bright with the return of the NYC Winter Lantern Festival, featuring a breathtaking 8-acre light installation with brilliant displays of flowers, an open sky, and deep-sea adventures.

Pumpkin Picking at Decker Farm

Historic Richmond Town’s Decker Farm has an easy hay maze that’s perfect for toddlers and small children. Self-guided tours and hayrides available. Head over to the pumpkin patch, which features pumpkins of all shapes and sizes.
Want to go? $11; $5 ages 3-12; kids 2 and younger are free.

Greenside Up Garden Center’s Pumpkin Patch Fun

In addition to selecting the perfect pumpkin for their jack-o’-lanterns, kids can enjoy a corn maze, inflatables, pumpkin painting, games and prizes.

Italian Festival at the Mount

Celebrate Italian culture this fall at the Staten Island Italian Festival hosted by Catholic Charities of Staten Island. Activities include rides and games for kids, vendors, beer and sangria gardens, live music and lots of delicious eats.

Harvest Festival and Outdoor Market

Fall Festival at the Mount

Get ready to wander through an amazingly big pumpkin patch. The Fall Festival at Mount Loretto, hosted by Catholic Charities of Staten Island, will feature rides and games for kids, a beer garden, a DJ, and of course, lots of pumpkins!
