Here’s to the Red, White and Blue! There are many fun and exciting fireworks and July 4th events in Staten Island and nearby for families to enjoy. From festivals to parades to live performances, there’s something for everyone, including plenty of local options for seeing fireworks displays. Browse our guide to patriotic activities happening in our area, and get ready to celebrate our nation’s history and all things American!

Fireworks and July 4th Events In Staten Island and Nearby

Independence Weekend At Historic Richmond Town 

WHERE: Historic Richmond Town; 441 Clarke Ave., Staten Island
WHEN: Saturday, July 1-Sunday, July 2; 10am-4pm
WHAT: Bring the family to celebrate Independence Day at Historic Richmond Town. Meet costumed interpreters and historians portraying soldiers, tradespeople and founding fathers. Sign your name to a copy of the Declaration of Independence. Enjoy demonstrations of 19th century fireworks, a balloon launch, and Revolutionary era muskets.

Travis 4th Of July Parade 

WHERE: Independence Park (corner of Victory Boulevard and Glen Street), Staten Island
WHEN: Tuesday, July 4; 12pm
WHAT: Ceremony starts at noon at Independence Park in Travis. During the ceremony, dignitaries and honored guests, including the Grand Marshal, will be recognized. Parade steps off at 12:30pm at Showplace Entertainment Center, 141 East Service Rd.

4th of July Block Party At Empire Outlets 

WHERE: Empire Outlets; 55 Richmond Terr., Staten Island
WHEN: Tuesday, July 4; 3-10pm
WHAT: Enjoy face painting, balloon animals, music and more. Fireworks around 9pm!

Nathan’s Famous 2023 July Fourth Hot Dog Eating Contest

WHERE: Nathan’s Famous, Corner of Surf and Stillwell Avenues
WHEN: Tuesday, July 4
WHAT: The famous food-gorge contest is back again, with more details to be announced!

Oceanfest at Long Branch 2023

WHERE: 1 Ocean Blvd., Long Branch, NJ
WHEN: Tuesday, July 4; 1-10pm
WHAT: Oceanfest is a popular Jersey Shore event that’s fun for the whole family. There’s music, food and entertainment, followed by fireworks at 9pm.

Independence Day Celebration At Historic Longstreet Farm 

WHERE: 44 Longstreet Rd., Holmdel, NJ
WHEN: Tuesday, July 4; 12-3pm
WHAT: Celebrate patriotism and the 4th of July holiday with fun games and contests at this family-friendly event.

Fireworks and July 4th Events In Staten Island and Nearby: Where To See Fireworks Displays

Macy’s 4th Of July Fireworks

WHERE: Along the East River in Midtown, Manhattan
WHEN: Tuesday, July 4, approx. 9:25pm
WHAT: Macy’s will host its signature salute to America with fireworks, featuring an array of dazzling shells and effects that will captivate spectators in NYC and on TV.
WANT TO GO? Official viewing locations will be announced for portions of the Brooklyn, Manhattan and Queens waterfronts. Check the website for details. You can also watch the show on NBC, 8-10pm, or stream live on Peacock.

Perth Amboy Fireworks Display

WHERE: Perth Amboy Waterfront, NJ
WHEN: Monday, July 3, 3-9pm
WHAT: See an impressive fireworks display over Raritan Bay. The event also includes a pre-fireworks festival from 3-9pm with food trucks, bands and artisans on the waterfront.

Empire Outlets

WHERE: Empire Outlets; 55 Richmond Terr., Staten Island
WHEN: Tuesday, July 4; 3-10pm
WHAT: As part of its 4th of July Block Party, which is one of several fireworks and July 4th events in Staten Island, the outlets will do fireworks around 9pm.

Fourth of July Fireworks Extravaganza

WHERE: The Boardwalk at Seaside Heights, NJ
WHEN: Tuesday, July 4, 9:30pm
WHAT: See a fun Fourth of July fireworks show sponsored by Coca-Cola, visible from anywhere on the boardwalk.

Wildwoods Fourth of July Fireworks Spectacular

WHERE: Wildwoods Boardwalk, Wildwood, NJ
WHEN: Tuesday, July 4; 10pm
WHAT: See a beautiful fireworks display launched from the beach at Pine Avenue that will be synchronized to patriotic music playing over the boardwalk’s sound system.
