Free Sports Programs for Kids in Staten Island for Summer 2023 with City Parks

Free Sports Programs for Kids in Staten Island for Summer 2023 with City Parks

Get active this summer with free sports instruction for youth ages 6 – 17. Participants of all levels are welcome to enroll in summer tennis, golf, soccer and track programs twice weekly July through August with CityParks Foundation. Students will learn the fundamentals of play while staying healthy and energized! The programs are available in all five boroughs, including Staten Island.

City Parks Foundation Free Youth Sports on Staten Island

Tennis

Ages 6-17 • July and August
Twice weekly • Free

Silver Lake Park • Revere Street and Lakewood Road
Tuesdays and Thursdays
9am-12pm

Walker Park • Delafield Place and Bard Avenue
Tuesdays and Thursdays
1 – 4pm

Wolfe’s Pond Park • Cornelia and Chester Avenues
Mondays and Wednesdays
9am-12pm

Greenbelt Recreation Center • Brielle and Rockland Avenues
Mondays and Wednesdays
Times: 1-4pm

Golf

Ages 7-17 • July through August
The program, held in partnership with The First Tee of Metropolitan NY, offers free instruction at local parks citywide, including Silver Lake Park on Staten Island, as well as two golf centers designed just for youth. 

Silver Lake Park • Silver Lake Park Road and Victory Boulevard
Tuesdays and Thursdays
Times: 9am-12pm

Track & Field

Ages 6-17 • July through August
Twice weekly • Free
The program introduces kids to the building blocks of the sport, from sprinting techniques to long-distance racing, javelin-throwing to long jump, hurdles to race walking. 

Corporal Thompson Park • Alaska Street and Henderson Avenue
Mondays and Wednesdays
Times: 9:30am-12pm

Soccer

Ages 7-12 • July through August
Twice weekly • Free

Clove Lakes Park • Clove Road and Park Drive
Tuesdays and Thursdays
Times: 9-11am
