The ‘World’s Largest’ Go-Kart Racing Track to Open in Edison, NJ

Rev up your engines, and get ready to ride! A massive new go-kart racing track is set to open this November in Edison, NJ—just 20 minutes from Staten Island.

The track is being touted as the “world’s largest” multi-level indoor karting track. Plus, it will be part of a 140,000-square-foot facility that will also offer ax-throwing lanes, a giant arcade, bumper cars, drop and twist tower, a restaurant and two bars.

Supercharged Entertainment, which runs a similar venue in Wrentham, MA, is building the complex.

The owners picked Edison as a prime location because of its bustling atmosphere. It’s being built near Topgolf, a popular entertainment destination in Edison, and other popular restaurants and attractions. Also, it’s close to two major cities.

“It’s a great area, there’s a lot of activities to do and there’s a lot of people here. It seems like a really fun area that we can come into and help support the locals,” Michael Dawson, Supercharged Entertainment’s director of operations, said. “It’s close to New York City and Philly. And, there’s so much to do and we want to be a part of it.”

Sizing Up the Track

So, just how big is this new track? Big! The Edison course will be 28% larger than the company’s flagship Massachusetts location, and feature a fleet of 90 go-karts. Also, it will have 10 elevation changes, with the highest point being about 35-feet high. Most of the track is about 20 feet wide—enough room to fit four karts side by side. Quite an impressive way to burn rubber!

“We like to say it’s like a roller coaster that you control,” Dawson said.

But don’t let the track’s size intimidate you. Go-kart drivers of all experience levels can join in on the super-charged fun. Karts can be set to slow speeds for kids and go-kart newbies. A higher speed is available for seasoned go-kart riders or anyone who wants a challenge!
