The Richmond County Fair returns to Staten Island this Labor Day Weekend, bringing three days of rides, food, music, contests, and family fun to Historic Richmond Town from Saturday, September 5 through Monday, September 7.
Dating back to 1895, the Richmond County Fair draws about 15,000 visitors each year to Historic Richmond Town. The three-day event takes over the 35-acre historic village with rides, food, music, vendors, contests, and hands-on activities for the whole family.
Highlights include amazing food, music, rides, contests, vendors, and hands-on experiences. Visitors can expect classic midway attractions, live performances, produce contests, demonstrations of historic trades, cultural organizations, and community partners from across Staten Island and New York City!

What to Expect at the 46th Annual Richmond County Fair
Rides, Games, & More!
Kids can bounce, climb, slide, and play with a bounce house, obstacle course, slide, pony rides, face painting, giant bubbles, and fun contests. Visitors can also check out roving aerialists, stilt walkers, and a balloon artist bringing extra excitement to the fair!
There’s also a Butterfly Vivarium and Scout-led challenges like the rope bridge, Raingutter Regatta, and Pinewood Derby. And for the grown-ups, the ever-popular Wine Ring Toss is back, courtesy of the Historic Richmond Town Board of Directors. With so much to see and do, there’s something for everyone to enjoy! Fairgoers can also explore Historic Richmond Town’s historical museum and visit the new exhibition, Founding Principles: The Declaration of Independence, Civics, and Staten Island.
Music
The Richmond County Fair’s main stage will feature live performances throughout the weekend, showcasing both returning favorites and new talent. This year’s lineup includes Vito Picone & The Elegants, Joan Caddell and the Midnight Choir, The Chiclettes, Vinnie Medugno, the NYPD Band, Johnny Fish and the Fins, Chain Reaction, Crazy 8s, Impulse, Morrisania Band Project, 25 Missions, Brandy’s Dance Unique, Nicolette Capua, and E.T. Productions, along with live music from DJs throughout the weekend.
History and Culture Crawl
You can also take a step back in time and explore Historic Richmond Town’s beautifully restored buildings and grounds while watching demonstrations of traditional crafts and skills. See artisans bring history to life with tinsmithing, blacksmithing, carpentry, broom making, and open-hearth cooking.
As you enter the fair along Richmond Road, you’ll also find the Staten Island Culture Crawl, featuring local nonprofits, civic groups, and community organizations. It’s a great opportunity to meet the people behind the programs and services that help make Staten Island such a vibrant and welcoming community.
Vendors
More than 100 vendors are expected to fill the streets with T-shirts, antiques, handmade crafts, unique finds, and more. Main Street Coffee will be joined by food trucks from across New York City, serving up a variety of crowd favorites, including sausage and peppers, empanadas, lobster rolls, rice balls, mac and cheese, fried chicken, funnel cakes, kettle corn, zeppoles, and more.
Grow Your Own Contests
Whether speed eater or an expert grower, there’s a contest for everyone. This year’s fair will see the return of the Historic Richmond Town Locally Grown Contest, celebrating the fruits and vegetables grown by Staten Island gardeners.
