Luckily, if you’re on Staten Island, you’re just a short trip away from some fantastic spots to satisfy your sweet tooth. Whether you’re in the mood for a big-name brand or a charming local shop, you’ll find plenty of options around the borough. Check out this list of 14 places to get delicious ice cream on Staten Island, which is perfect for treating you and your family to a delightful selection of frozen treats!

Ralph’s has locations throughout New York, New Jersey, and Connecticut, but its home base is Staten Island. Founded by Ralph Silvestro, Ralph’s Treats became a summertime favorite starting at its very first retail location in Port Richmond on Staten Island. From there, it grew and expanded to many more locations over the years. Today, Ralph’s offers an array of over 100 flavors of refreshing Italian ice, ice cream, and specialty drinks.

Egger’s has been a mainstay in Staten Island since 1932, but West Brighton native Danielle Raleigh took ownership of the shop in 2014. Egger’s is an old-fashioned ice cream parlor at heart. Still, Danielle works to stay on trend with the latest cake designs, contemporary flavor combos, and ice cream to accommodate those with unique dietary restrictions (including vegan and sugar-free options). Ice cream flavors include vanilla, chocolate, strawberry, butter pecan, maple walnut, vanilla fudge swirl, and many more.

It’s hard to list the best places for ice cream on Staten Island without including Carvel. The famous Tom Carvel founded the company, which began selling ice cream from his vending truck in 1929.
