Event Details

Join the City Parks Foundation and the Natural Resources Protective Association in helping to clean up Great Kills Park in recognition of Fall IMP-act Day. (IMP stands for It’s My park, the foundation’s signature volunteer program.)

Fall IMP-act Day takes place at parks around the city on Oct. 16. The day traditionally begins the fall planting season, with many volunteers planting daffodil bulbs in remembrance of the victims of 9/11 through the Daffodil Project, co-founded by NYC Parks and New Yorkers for Parks. This year, the project will double in size to recognize the 20th anniversary of 9/11 and incorporate a memorial to the lives lost to COVID-19.

After the traditional planting of the daffodils, join the team in removing garbage and debris from the waterfront at Oakwood Beach. Meet at the Tarlton Street cul de sac.
