Sunflowers are in bloom, which means it’s the perfect time to visit one of these sunflower mazes in NJ—and all of our top picks are within a 1-hour drive from Staten Island, making them great day trip options for your family! These bright and cheery blooms are as warm and inviting as the sweet summer sun, and their brilliant yellow petals have an unmistakable sun-like appearance that has made them a crowd favorite, especially in the summer months.

Kids and adults alike have a tough time turning down an outing where you can explore a sunflower maze. Plus, each of these farms has other fun family offerings, like flower picking, peach picking, and more! And, of course, you can snap the perfect picture for Instagram. Here are our favorite sunflower mazes in NJ for Staten Island families to visit.

Sunflower Mazes in NJ

Admission: Visiting the sunflower trail is included with your pick-your-own admission. Varies based on which pick-your-own you’re doing.

Traverse the Blooming Giants Sunflower Trail to see these giant beauties up close while capturing the perfect photo as a keepsake. The sunflower trail is open every day during the season, typically July through October. However, it is subject to change as crops are weather-dependent.

The sunflower season on the New Jersey farm is from mid-July to the end of August this year. Not only can you stroll through the farm’s sunflower walk, but you can also take some beautiful photos for Instagram or as a keepsake from your visit. You can even take home your own bouquet of sunflowers!

Why we love it: The Farm Store is fully stocked with fresh goods, including dairy products, baked goods, local honey, and more.

Look out for their Sunflower Festivals every weekend in August. The festivals are great places to see sunflowers, which are in bloom at the farm all summer long. In addition to seeing sunny sunflowers, visitors can pick fruit, visit farm animals, and enjoy lots of photo opportunities. On select days, visitors can take a hayride around the farm and play in the activity area.

Why we love it: The farm isn’t just about sunflowers. It grows zinnias, marigolds, feather and cockscomb celosia, colored sunflowers, statice, ageratum, and lisianthus. Buy a vase or jar and fill it with as many cut flowers as you can.
